Lo and behold, the lady at the Garuda Indonesia counter informed that my flight was not confirmed and I was not in their list of passengers. Arrgh....how can this happen??!!! The explanation given to me was that the town office (@ United Square, near Novena MRT) I bought/collected my ticket from had some system problem that caused my ticket details not to be linked with the airport counter's check-in. Does that make sense to u?
Anyways, I asked what's the solution to this and can I board the 4:45pm flight. The response was to go to another counter at 4:15pm and wait for the green light from the officer there, whether there was a seat available. In the meantime, I requested that my return flight be confirmed. Don't want similar incident to happen! Mind u, trying to kill half hour was agonising especially none of the Garuda personnel could confirm that I could get on the flight...

Once the clock struck 4:15pm, I was at the Officer's counter...felt like I was at their mercy :(
The guy told me that there are seats available and I can check in. Happy to say that I even had some time to shop for a 12years Chivas liquor (as requested by my younger bro) before boarding the plane.
My flight took off about 5pm (slight delay) and arrived in Ngurah Rai International Airport, Denpasar (DPS) about 7:30pm.
I've been taking mostly budget airlines these past 2 years so there weren't any problems. As far as I can remember, full fare airlines do not require reconfirmation once ticket is bought.
Thus...Note to self : remember to call up and check whether need to reconfirm a week before departure, if not on budget airlines.
For SGD383 that I've paid for my return flight, the food provided (seafood noodles, fruits and drinks) was ok. What I took notice of was that the safety briefing was done on the tv screens, leaving the air steward/stewardesses time to serve refreshments before take off.
