Early morning flight to Danang enroute to Hoi An

Gosh, it's 2 early morning flights for me in a row!


The flight from Hanoi to Danang was at 6:00am, so I crawled out of bed about 3am and Trix half hour later. The airport taxi was waiting for us at 4am and I dozed off and on during the hour long journey to Noi Bai International Airport.

I found it amazing that the early morning flight was full and the queue to check in was long, at least 30 people were ahead of us at 5am!

We got ourselves checked in and into the departure waiting area to wait for boarding. Trix popped in a Novomin (for travel sickness) before the flight.

I loved the safety briefing in the Vietnam Airlines, it was projected on the inflight tv screens, which were folded down from certain overhead area (in between passengers' light switches). The flight to Danang was about an hour and the air stewardess managed to serve us cardboard box breakfast which had a small container of water and a very tough cinnamon roll. Trix mentioned that she noted Vietnam Airlines air stewardess generally don't smile. I saw for myself...of the 3 air stewardesses, only one smiled (from the duration we sat in the plane until we reached Danang).




Danang seemed to be a bustling new township with new construction projects underway. Along the way, after leaving the town, there were paddy fields everywhere (there were also corn fields and cemetaries alongside). About an hour later, we entered Hoi An town.

Dinner at la lua, Hanoi

I've since sort of healed from all the resting and taking in fluids during the day. So for dinner, Trixy took me to la lua.

Only remembered to take the 1st dish, then forgot the rest...

We walked to Ipanima (Trix calls it the Barbie doll shop as the interior is pink) after dinner but it was already closed at 8pm. We decided to call it a day as Trix needed to pack some stuff for her brother-in-law to bring back for her and also for our trip.

Hanoi, here I come again...

I flew home from Singapore to LCCT via AirAsia's 9:40pm flight on Monday. Arrived in LCCT an hour later and took a bus to KL Sentral where Arlene picked me up. We went for a drink and chat a while before she sent me home about 1am.





Arrgh, I had to wake up about 4am as my flight to Hanoi was at 6:30am! I did some packing and went to bed about 2am. No worries, managed to wake up about 4:15am thanks to my 2 mobile phones' alarm and my Dad :D





Things that morning was a big blur to me...I woke up with a heavy head, tummyache and slight bodyache. I managed to check-in and was on my way to Hanoi as the sun started rising at the horizon.





The 3hours 15 minutes flight was quite uneventful as I flew solo this time. Apart from having a RM8 nasi lemak & RM4 mineral water and going to relieve myself once, I was sleeping/ trying to rest. Having slight headache thus didn't feel good.

After the plane descended below the clouds, I saw that it was a gloomy, misty day in Hanoi :(

Thankfully, Trixy arranged airport pickup for me, otherwise I'd have felt lost. However, when I exited Noi Bai International Airport's arrival hall I had a good laugh! I became Ms. Khan Jo Anne.....Nonetheless, it was great to see the familiar Sunway Hotel logo on the same piece of paper as my 'name'.

After checking in, my initial plan was to go around Old Quarters near Hoan Kiem Lake by myself to occupy myself until dinner. But plans can change right?
Darn right, as I spent the day sleeping in! Just didn't want to go anywhere with the headache. Can't take medication as I'm allergic to painkillers and tummy was acting up. For lunch, I had raisin bread bought from NTUC Fair Price at Basement, Terminal 1 Changi.

Trix came to check on me twice and had me help charge the batteries to her Sony Cybershot and iPod nano. It's the least I could do since she has to clear all possible work before leaving for our vacation the next 4 days.

Harsh email...and sms

In the opinion of my colleague and even myself...I wrote a rather harshly worded email to my tenant's Mom and sms to the tenant last night. It's to inform...to please move out latest by 31 May 08. I shall refrain from writing anything more about him specifically as it's unwise to burn bridges, right? I'm sure I'm not perfect either.

No regrets tho, coz I'm not getting enough sleep from sharing room with my younger bro. Sorry Blue, I need to complain/explain to the world about your snoring.
Even whacking him a few times throughout the night with small pillows would not shut him up for long :(


Apart from that, I've been promising people that I'll try to update photos of my recent travel (18-23 Mar 2008) to Hoi An, My Son (pronounced as mee sern) and Hue (pronounced as hoo-ay) in Central Vietnam. I went to Hanoi to meet up with Trixy and we proceeded to Central Vietnam.

Normal Sunday, but then again...it's not

It was a normal Sunday (16 Mar 2008) for me where light cleaning and ironing chores were completed before dinner. However, my beloved younger bro (shall refer to him as Blue) suddenly called me to inform that he tripped and kicked the pavement in Bishan. He was describing the gory details of the condition of his right toe and I told him to quickly come home.

Don't think I need to explain further, just take a look at the pic below:

After finished having dinner I rushed to Tampines Mall (about 9:20pm) nearby to get Blue a new pair of slippers/sandals as he obviously cannot shove his toe into his sneakers. Royal Sporting House's (RSH) shutters have been closed except for one glass panel and that's where I went in and selected a pair of Rider's sandals for Blue. Lucky for him, it was the last day of promo and instead of SGD59.90, I got it for SGD39.90 before RSH closed about 9:45pm.

That night I could not sleep well. I fell asleep about 12am and woke up about 3am. Thought I was hungry so had 2 pieces of plain bread and tried to go back to sleep. Sadly I stayed awake til 4:30am before dozing off and woke up the next hour and dozed off again.

When Blue woke up to get ready for work at 6:30am, I was awake too. But I was feeling lousy coz had lack of sleep and decided too seek medical help. As I was down with stomach flu last week, the Doctor suspected that remnants of it was still in my tummy so gave me the day off on 17 Mar 2008.

FYI, I'll be flying back to KL tonight and followed by another flight to Hanoi for my vacation with Trixy to Danang, Hoi An, My Son and Hue.
