20080527 Right ingrown toe nail - partial removal

A week before my elder brother wedding, my right toenail started to hurt. I suspected that it's an ingrown toenail problem but decided not to do anything until after the wedding.

The weekend after the event, I was out swimming with Siew Khee and after shower, I pried at my toe as there were parts that looked infected with green pus. yeah, i know...icky! some pus oozed out. I went to see the GP and he gave me referral letter to government hospital. Needless to say, the wait was about 6 hours at Changi GH on that Sunday evening (25/05/08).

To cut long story short, I paid for my surgery first then claim through my personal medical insurance in Malaysia. My cousin, Nie recommended a surgeon (Dr. Kevin Yip) who operated to remove the ingrown toenails and sew up both sides of my nail beds to prevent future recurrence.

Applying for Singapore PR

My probation period was up in Mar'08 and I received my confirmation letter late Feb'08. That meant that I was eligible to apply for Singapore Permanent Resident status. But lo and behold, I procrastinated til last week of April!

What caught me by surprise was that Human Resources were quick in responding and completing the Employer portion of the Application for Permanent Residence for Professionals/Technical Personnel and Skilled Workers (PTS), also known as Form 4A. I forwarded the softcopy on 29 Apr and was informed that it could be collected any time on 2May onwards.

That spurred me to painstakingly fill in the form...well, the document was in .pdf, thus I could not just type in the information required and print. And to make everything fit into allocated space, I wrote as small and legible as I could.

I applied for a day's leave yesterday for tomorrow. Wish me luck in getting through the whole process asap.

Oh yes, I'll be popping by Jodie's place to attend Jayden's ful moon party tomorrow :D Shall tell u later. Til then, take care.
